Online Therapy, Counseling Meditation, and Hypnosis
Online therapy or Teletherapy makes counseling, mindfulness training, and even hypnotherapy available to you from the safety of your own home. All you need is a computer, tablet, or phone with an internet connection to have a HIPAA secure session.
Online Therapy and Counseling
In the interest of safety for my clients, myself, and the community, I welcome working with you using online therapy. All of the changes we’ve had to make to be healthy during this pandemic is causing significant stresses on individuals, couples and families – and I am here to provide the support and help you need during this time. Life was hard enough before all of this started, and those stresses have continued as well.
Teletherapy Advantages:
Convenient
Flexible scheduling
Wide range of therapies available (counseling, meditation training, hypnosis)
No commute time
Most insurance and benefit plans cover Online Therapy
Research shows Online Therapy is just as effective as in-person counseling
What do others say?
Psychology Today has a great blog post about Online Therapy by Dr. Marianne Brandon here. A key quote:
“Change is difficult for all of us and changing the way you meet with your therapist is no exception. But try it before you disregard this option. This is a challenging moment in time, and fears and anxieties are running high. You may find, as I did, that telepsychology isn’t a second-rate option. Instead, it’s an effective and efficient upgrade to a valuable service!”
The American Psychiatric Association published this article which says:
“There is substantial evidence of the effectiveness of telepsychiatry and research has found satisfaction to be high among patients, psychiatrists and other professionals. Telepsychiatry is equivalent to in-person care in diagnostic accuracy, treatment effectiveness, quality of care and patient satisfaction. Patient privacy and confidentiality are equivalent to in-person care.”"
How to get started
It’s easy! Just fill out the New Client Inquiry Form, and after we set up your first appointment then you’ll get a link to download the HIPAA compliant secure app for your computer or device. Then just use that app at our appointment time.
I’ll have your phone number handy in case there are any problems with internet connections (sometimes happens, but fairly rare). We can also use phone if you prefer. I’ve had clients sit outside or go for a walk during phone sessions.
I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have — the best way to reach me is through the form here.
Looking forward to seeing you … online!
